Company Profile

Berkshire Wooden Boat has been in business since 1990. We currently employ four full-time in our 6500 square foot shop, located in western Massachusetts, about 45 minutes southeast of Albany, NY. The staff at Berkshire Wooden Boat is not your typical boat yard staff. They are highly trained both through experience and academics. Five of the staff members have a minimum of six years commercial restoration shop experience, most have more than ten years experience. They represent degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Technology; Applied Mathematics; Computer Science and Art History and Restoration. We perform 2D and 3D computer modeling, lofting and detail drawing in house. We are well know for our historic and technical summaries and evaluations, photo documenting and field work. We have designed, implemented and supported educational programs for the State of Vermont Technical High School Intern Program; Williams College Outing Club, the Boy Scouts and the Power Squadron.

 Recognized for our knowledge of Pre-WWII watercraft and 1960's automobile engine-powered hydroplanes, we specialize in traditional reproduction and restoration as well as modern design and building.

Our shop rate as of January 1, 2010 is still $75.00/hr.
