We have the last of our Fay and Bowen Torpedo launch projects being delivered for Labor Day.  The economy has taken a toll on these important restoration projects. It is the first time in ten years we have not had a Fay and Bowen restoration for the winter.

A Fay and Bowen Standard Torpedo launch, hull #332,  finished and delivered to Lake Placid, NY. I love these boats!

Hull #332 at Lake Placid

Another Fay and Bowen Standard Torpedo launch ready for it's trip to Minnesota.

I don't believe any commercial boat shop has worked on more of these American classics than we have. Not only have we performed major restorations on more than a dozen hulls, but we have documented, photographed and measured twice that many. If your interests are with a Fay and Bowen launch, or any early motorized launch, then we should be your first choice shop.

David Witham e-mailed us about his 25' 1910 Fay and Bowen, hull # 249. The boat's name is Steam Launch
Guernsey Isle. They have a camp on Guernsey Cow Island in Winnipesaukee.
His dad put the boat together in the 1980's to use a 10 hp
steam engine he had built. He found the hull in a marina on Moosehead
Lake.

Great Job!

And this our Canadian friend Gerry Lodge's 25' Fay and Bowen. I have not seen this boat in person, but I am sure it is spectacular.

Launch Hardware

We have a large selection of reproduction hardware available for your project. We have collected examples of original hardware from pre-WWII launches for the past 15 years and, as time permitted, made proper patterns. We have recently begun to work with a small foundry who can produce small quantities of sand cast parts at reasonable prices. Components are cast in brass, bronze and aluminum. They are available in rough and finished condition. We will be adding 1920's Dodge, 1920's Fay and Bowen long deck and 1960's Ruark hydroplane hardware to our offering soon. We have just posted the newest prices, see the Launch Hardware page.
