Shop News                                        The Premier Wooden Boat Restoration and Re-Construction Shop in the Northeast

Lots to talk about...

bulletI added a BWB Discussion Forum feature. Please try it out and let me know what you think.
bulletWe are having a good year. We are working on three Fay and Bowens; finishing a Riva Ariston and the Torr-40; working on four Wianno Seniors and two Juniors; a Penn Yan Swift and two dingys; a Rayson Craft and Canyon v-drive; and have a commission to build a new Atkins 16' row/sail boat.
bulletOur shop staff is back to five full time and one part time; we just bought a nice Powermatic 18" planer and we are advertizing in Wooden Boat magazine. We refuse to let the economy of the last few years beat us down.
bulletA previous owner of WHISPER Wianno Senior #26, who wishes to remain anonymous, gave us a generous donation to help with WHISPER's restoration. We would like to thank them very much for their involvement and look forward to sailing with them at the 100 year anniversary.

We found a 1907 25' Fay and Bowen Standard Torpedo launch and restored it for the Minnesota Maritime Museum. STELLA won her class at the International ACBS meet.

Another Fay and Bowen that we restored is the famous AIDA II. She was previously owner by Bill Smith, founding member of the ACBS and the first person to organize and publish data on Fay and Bowen hull history. This hull is the most photographed Fay and Bowens of all time. She was featured in Nautical Quarterly and The Guide To Wooden Power Boats, as well as an Este Lauder national advertising campaign.

...she will be featured by us at the 21st Annual WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport, CT this year, and I have been told by the owners that she is reluctantly available for sale. Click here for the full details.

Our  1904 B.B. Crowinshield 27' gaff-rigged sloop ANONA    We have yet to match a capable owner with ANONA. Her restoration has been put on the back burner due to our involvement in the Wianno Senior one-design class and getting ready for the class one hundred year anniversary in 2014. Our shop is diligently working to restore two early Wianno Seniors to sail in the anniversary, and we would love to find an enthusiastic owner for ANONA. Her sale price has been dramatically reduced for the right person. She requires a full restoration, but her small size and lightly built structure make her a suitable project for the home builder; or have us do the structural work. She is available to the right party for $8,000.00.
