BEAN MO CHROI (or Ben for short) is the one and only original Design 57, a 28' centerboard daysailer designed in 1932 by L. Francis Herreshoff. While delivering the Zephyr Z-4, a saw one of the fiberglass reproductions done by Edey and Duff called a Stuart Knockabout. It is a beautiful design - even in glass! Mike Schilling, the owner of Southards Boat Yard, tells me that they are a great South Bay boat, very fast and comfortable, and they sail singlehanded well. I did a little research when I got back to my shop and to my amazement the wooden original is up for sale.

The hull requires a full restoration and is being offered at a very reasonable price of $15k by Ballentines Boat Shop. It is exactly the type of project that we excel at. Business aside, this is a very worthwhile project that needs to be undertaken. 

We have Wee Scotts and Wee Scott history coming out of the woodwork! There appears to be a few of them lovingly tucked away for what was meant to be future projects.
